FursonaPod Get!

June 17th, 2009

Whether it was for or against their better judgment, FursonaPod was invited to attend this first annual meet, and we're very glad we were able to attend. Zaaz, Juna, and Moji tripped down to Pike Lake, Saskatchewan, just 30 minutes south of Saskatoon, on Saturday, the second day of the meet, and enjoyed hospitality and a good time by the organizers Rainbow Wally and Sulli.

An entire group site was reserved for the meet, providing ample room for all the attendees, however we reserved a cabin, which was literally 30 feet away from their group site, since the youngest furry, Zaaz and Juna's newborn daughter, was in attendance as well. However, although we arrived at the party late, there was still much fun to be had.

We rolled at about 1:00, after lunch had been eaten, but that wasn't a problem as there was much food to forage through, which was a constant theme throughout the rest of the stay. Although all the food we could possibly consume was provided by our hosts, many other furs brought their own goodies which created a cornucopia of foody goodness.

The only negative comments (hey, we're critiques after all) is that there should have been more events and activities scheduled to keep the momentum going more. However, considering that this is a first ever meet by first ever organizers, I would say that it's remarkable that, from an attendee's point of view, this was the only possible flaw. That said, there were still enough things to do to keep everyone occupied given the amount of activities available at Pike Lake, such as swimming, water slides, mini golf, and a concession.

All in all, this was a highly enjoyable experience, the meet badges are the hot mix (check them out below), and we very much look forward to attending next year. Big thanks to Rainbow Wally, Sulli, and Orcus for his work on the Sask Fur Meet wolf signing plaque (it's awesome!).
